Gethsemane Lutheran Church is proud to present organist Mark Brombaugh in recital on Sunday afternoon November 18, 2018 at 4 pm.  This is the first recital on the 29-stop, two-manual, Fritts Opus 6 organ to follow recent tonal updates to the instrument, and architectural and acoustical revisions to the sanctuary.  It is one of the opening events in a new concert series at the church featuring a variety of musical genres.  Dr Brombaugh will present a wide-ranging program:

Nicolaus Bruhns —  Praeludium in G Major
Tablature of Johannes of Lublin — Five Renaissance Dances
Heinrich Scheidemann — Magnificat Tone III (2 verses)
J S Bach — “Allein Gott in der Höh sei Ehr’” (BWV 663, 664)
Paul Hindemith — Sonata I
Emma Lou Diemer — Three Hymn Preludes
Felix Mendelssohn — Sonata I: Adagio and Allegro assai vivace

Dr. Brombaugh is Organist and Co-Director of Music Ministries at Christ Episcopal Church in Tacoma. Gethsemane Lutheran Church is conveniently accessible from I-5 exit 166.  Admission is $18 general / $10 seniors and students / free for kids 12 and under.  Tickets are available here.

A portion of all ticket revenue supports nonprofit relief of immigrants and families experiencing food and housing insecurity. Nonprofit beneficiaries are Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, The Hope Center, The Church Council of Greater Seattle, and Mary’s Place.
