Douglas Cleveland, internationally celebrated concert organist will be featured in a free to the public organ recital and hymn sing at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church in Gig Harbor on Sunday afternoon, April 22 at 3:30 PM. This concert will be to honor the dedicatory naming of the 1910 Hook & Hastings organ which was rescued, augmented and restored by Marceau Organ company and installed in 1999 at Chapel Hill. This 58 rank pipe organ features 3558 pipes and a 4 manual console.

The recital will feature the two main purposes of this great instrument. First, is the production of inspiring, up-lifting and worshipful music. Second, is the leading and accompaniment of congregational hymn singing. Both functions are vital and will be featured in this special recital.

Chapel Hill has decided to honor two families who, along with others, were leaders in the securing, restoration and installation of this outstanding instrument. Consequently, the organ will be named in their honor The Stephens/Uddenberg Memorial organ.
