Franck & Langlais
Organ works from St. Clotilde, Paris
St. James Cathedral Organist & Director of Music Joseph Adam embarks upon a year-long celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of César Franck and his magnificent contributions to the French organ repertoire. In this series of four recitals, Franck’s major works will be surveyed along with major works by his most important successors at the Basilica of St. Clotilde in Paris. This first program includes the Fantasie in A, the Final in B-flat, and the Choral in E Major, one of Franck’s final compositions, along with the Suite brève by Jean Langlais, Titular Organist from 1945 to 1991.
