César Franck Bicentennial Celebration
Organ works from St. Clotilde, Paris
St. James Cathedral Organist and Director of Music Joseph Adam continues a year-long celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of César Franck and his magnificent contributions to the French organ repertoire. In this series of four recitals, Franck’s major works are surveyed along with major works by his most important successors at the Basilica of St. Clotilde in Paris. This second program includes Franck’s Pastorale, Prélude, Fugue et Variation, and Grand Pièce symphonique, along with the Triple Choral by Charles Tournemire, Titular Organist from 1898 to 1939.
