The year 2021 marks the 400th anniversary of the death of the Dutch composer Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck. During Sweelinck’s life, the Netherlands went through their “Golden Age,” a period of remarkable growth in arts, music, and sciences. Painters such as Rembrandt and Vermeer are also from this time period.  Join us as Tacoma AGO member (and Netherlands native) Paul Tegels  explores Sweelinck’s legacy through his keyboard and choral works, as well as his legacy as a teacher.

This presentation, recorded on Youtube, is available to watch at any time prior to the discussion, which occurs at 8:00 PM on Zoom (see separate calendar entry).
